Ardennes-Coticule, founded in 1998, is carrying on the business activities started by the first owner, Burton, in 1865. This includes both the operation of the slate quarries and mine and the production and sale of slate for various purposes.

van scherp naar vlijmscherp
- Vereist wat oefening, maar krijgt messen echt scherp. Als je er vlot mee wilt werken eerst slijpen met diamantstaaf of grove korrel steen.
- Voor grotere messen is de steen nogal klein.

De la grande qualité
- Cette pierre des Ardennes est indispensable pour un affûtage "rasoir". Certains barbiers utilisent cette pierre pour affûter les rasoirs coupe-choux. Asperger de l'eau sur la surface, tout simplement. Le grain étant très fin, cette pierre ne doit pas être immergée dans l'eau avant usage.
