General
100% natural "yellow" sharpening stone (Coticule Jaune standard) from the Belgian Ardennes. Due to a special geological quirk of nature, this stone contains about 35-40% garnet, which provides excellent sharpening properties. It is a very fine stone with a similar grit size to grid 6000.
The Ardennes-Coticule sharpening stone is a non-porous stone that only needs to be used with a little water. The resulting slurry provides an incredibly beautiful sharpening result. The relatively delicate yellow stone is bonded to a slate base (which does not have a sharpening function).
