Buck Knives is one of the oldest and best known knife makers in America. Founder Hoyt Buck was a young apprentice to a local Kansas blacksmith. He set out to find a better way to temper steel so it would stay sharp longer. With his unique approach, he made the first Buck knife in 1902. At the time, each knife was handmade from worn file blades.
