General
The ideal pocket knife for everyday use, picnic, BBQ, trekking, camping, hunting and fishing...
Sandvik stainless steel
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Handle
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.
Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives, starting from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).

- Gekocht voor mijn zoon , omdat hij zijn eerste opinel mes was kwijtgespeeld. Klein, inklapbaar en handig : op reis, op vakantie, bij de picknick, in je rugzak Je hebt Opinel messen in verschillende maten … Goede verhouding prijs/kwaliteit

Mes van topkwaliteit.
- Handig om mee te nemen. Zeer scherp en blijft lang scherp. Inklapbaar en bij het uitklappen is het ook vergrendelbaar opdat het niet zou toeklikken als je ermee aan het werken bent. Verkrijgbaar in verschillende groottes.

Beslist de aankoop dubbel en dik waard, ook qua prijs-kwaliteitverhouding
- Degelijk Frans vakmanschap. De "Rolls Royce" onder de messen. Dit onmisbare stukje gereedschap is en blijft scherp.
- Je kan je zelf er behoorlijk mee snijden, dus steeds in je achterhoofd houden dat je met een Opinel bezig bent. Zeker geen aanrader voor kinderen !!!

Een échte aanrader!
- Vlijmscherp. Ligt goed in de hand (beter dan mijn oude n°8). Ideaal om groenten en fruit fijn te snijden. Kwalitatief gemaakt (mijn oude n°8 gaat al meer dan 15 jaar mee). Mogelijkheid om hem te vergrendelen wanneer hij toegeplooid is (bij mijn oude n°8 was dit niet mogelijk).
- Bij mijn oude n°8 kon je het mes in beide richtingen vergrendelen (in open stand). Bij de huidige kan je hem maar in één richting vergrendelen (in open stand).

- In vergrendelmechanisme geraakt gemakkelijk vuil, maar dit is relatief gemakkelijk te reinigen.

Onmisbaar, eenvoudig maar doeltreffend Overlevingsmes
- Vergeet alle zogezegde "survival"- messen... Dit is het enige dat je nodig hebt. Low budget- no-nonsense. Ideaal voor alle mogelijke en denkbare karweitjes; van het kunstzinnige houtsnijden tot het voorbereiden van het kampvuur. Nu ja, een boom omvellen zal wel niet lukken.... Top mes, makkelijk scherp te houden, bijna even scherp als zijn eigenaar (vermoed ik)...
- Verboden wapen vanwege vergrendelbaar lemmet... (maar daar kan je een mouw aan passen)

Ideaal voor outdoor liefhebbers !
- Is een zeer goed mes voor een pick-nick, een kampeer tripje of etc. Het is wel niet te vergelijken met leatherman , maar aangezien de prijs is dit te verwachten , voor "normaal" gebruik een echte aanrader , snijt goed en blijft lang scherp
- Als je het mes afspoelt of het handvat word nat , knelt het lemmet er een beetje tussen .

Een vaste waarde
- Geen wonder dat dit het zakmes bij uitstek is in jeugdbewegingen zoals bv. de scouts. Zeer compact maar toch groot en stevig genoeg als trouwe trektocht- en kampeerhulp.
